As we all know, the official start to fall was last week! Although I’ve detailed how it’s not totally fall here in Florida yet, that didn’t stop me from preparing our home for the season ahead. It’s always so fun as the seasons change- like a fresh start with the cool air that’s soon to greet us. I love this feeling. With that in mind, here are three simple and inexpensive ways to bring fall home:
- Seasonal Touches- Although I love Halloween, black and orange would seriously throw off my color scheme at home. Therefore, I opted for subtle touches like a simple white pumpkin for the front porch, an updated neutral wreath, black and white skeleton dish towels, and metallic gold pumpkins in the center of our dining table. And side note, I never put the pumpkins away after last year so they’ve literally been out ALL YEAR. How embarrassing, I know! But luckily for me, they’re back in season haha. When decorating for the season, take note of items that will compliment, not clash with your current decor so it doesn’t bother you after just a few weeks. I also like to keep decor general (minus my dish towels)- think for both Halloween and Thanksgiving- encompassing the holidays in the entire season.
- Candles + Couch- Okay, it’s like a piece of me has been missing since This Is Us went on break. I am SO READY for it to be back so I can find out what happens between Kevin and Sophie (& everyone else)! Curling up on the couch in the fall requires a comfortable blanket and all the autumn scents that the HomeGoods candle aisle has to offer. Light a candle, pour a glass of wine and curl up for your favorite TV series.
- Baked Goods- I have a sweet tooth that can’t be ignored (#honesttruth). While I opt for cold desserts like ice cream in the warm months, I prefer hearty baked goods as the temperatures tapper off. Although I am not the best cook, I do enjoy baking. When cool temperatures arrive, I make a Paleo Cookie Bar (my Mother in Law gave us the recipe) almost once a week that’s amazing. Something about baking, the aroma that fills the house and the sound of football on the TV just means fall has totally made its arrival.
So there you have it, with complimenting seasonal touches, fall candles and fresh baked goods, your home is fall ready. With leaves crunching beneath your feet, your home will welcome you with the same autumn touches that give us all the feels!
How do you prep your home for fall? Let me know in the comments! I hope you have a great week. As always, thanks so much for stopping by today.
