I’ve learned that the best part of home ownership is not the home itself but rather the family and friends that can come gather, stay awhile and enjoy our space with us. Since moving in, both of our families have come to visit on a few occasions and although our home is on the smaller side, there’s always room for more! Our dining room is a space that enables those guests to sit and relax, enjoy a meal and just catch up. Also, this table is a place where Mack and I sit and catch up after work. With our busy, sometimes conflicting schedules, it’s a treat when we get to talk about our days over a meal at our dining room table!

When it came time to decorate this space, we determined early on a few key pieces that we wanted it to include but had to take time to find and decide on what we liked best. In determining the overall theme for our house we decided on a western chic look. Think metallic details, touches of pink and rustic accents. We think we’ve stayed fairly true to that original vision but have added touches here and there that to us, work! We accomplished this look with a classic table (which we inherited in our move, similar is linked), a natural cowhide, a buffet (found at a local antique store), ginger jars, a metallic sea urchin and our course some stacked books to provide a pop of color.

Prior to moving into this house, we dined at a table that I found at Goodwill for like $25 for two years! That table made two moves with us and it was sort of sad as we donated it back to Goodwill in September of last year when we moved. I look at our dining room now and I am obsessed but I will always remember that Goodwill table as it was a staple in our house during pivotal moments in our life. I know this dining room will bring new memories. But I like to remember where we started too! It makes having this dining room that much sweeter. Also, I am confident that our Goodwill dining table found another home and serves that family like it did ours!

Wishing you a great start to your week! Thanks so much for reading today.
